Stephen Nunoebiyu Mac-Ake aka "Fine Boy" (1942 - 2024)

Stephen Nunoebiyu Mac-Ake, popularly known as “Fine Boy,” was a prominent technical auto mechanic from Ogbia Kingdom, Bayelsa State, Nigeria. Born on May 2, 1942, he played a significant role in training youths in mechanical engineering during the 1980s and contributed to the agricultural sector, particularly through the School to Land Project.

After obtaining his OND in Mechanical Engineering, Stephen worked at the Government Vocational Technical Center in Port Harcourt, later serving as a technical teacher at Government Comprehensive Secondary School Borokiri. He significantly impacted the School to Land Project and worked with various employment centers, helping secure job opportunities for many youths.

A devout member of the Gospel Deliverance Mission, Stephen was married to Mac-Ake Chimelam Naomi and had nine children. He passed away on March 12, 2024, at the age of 82.

Chief Christian Arobo Okoloba-Aziba

Chief Christian Arobo Okoloba-Aziba, an esteemed Ogbia Chief from Opume community in Bayelsa State, has had a distinguished career in public service and politics. Born on June 12, 1937, he began his education at St. Peter Primary School and later pursued a career in teaching before transitioning to the administrative domain. He served as an Administrative Officer in the Rivers State civil service, eventually becoming a Director-General. After retiring in 1993, he entered active politics, supporting prominent figures like Chief DSP Alamieyeseigha and Dr. Goodluck Jonathan. He held various significant positions, including Vice Chairman of the Transitional Committee and Special Adviser on Community Relations. Chief Okoloba-Aziba is also a devout Baptist and a dedicated family man, married to Pastor Mrs. Maria Okoloba.

The Ogbia tribe, a unique ethnicity in the Niger Delta, has significantly shaped Nigeria’s socio-political history. The Ogbia land pioneered oil and gas activities from 1956 and produced the first Executive Governor of old Rivers State and a President of Nigeria. The Ogbia stool was never a monarchy. The history of Obanobhan Ogbia dates back to the second half of the 20th century, with centralized institutions of traditional government developing in Ogbia in 1940 through the Ogbia Brotherhood. The first Obanobhan Ogbia, Rev. G. I. Amangala, was invested in 1958. Subsequent Obanobhans included King Bennett A. Isiki and HRM Emmanuel Joel Igoniwari. The current Obanobhan Ogbia III, HRM Dumaro Charles Owaba, was elected in September 2016 and coronated on March 25, 2017, marking the culmination of a 25-year journey.

Captain Perebo A. Dakolo was a fearless Nigerian Army officer known for his role in the failed April 1990 coup led by Major Gideon Gwaza Orkar. Born in 1957 in Bayelsa State, Dakolo was passionate about justice and resource control for the Niger Delta. He served with distinction in the Nigerian Army, excelling in several specialized military courses and earning a reputation as a capable and charismatic leader. Dakolo’s involvement in the 1990 coup was driven by his belief in a more equitable Nigerian federation. Despite the coup’s failure, Dakolo chose to face the consequences with honor and was executed by the military junta in August 1990 at the age of 33. His sacrifice remains a symbol of courage and commitment to justice.
