Elder Samuel Iduabo Tarinyo (1938-2023)

Elder Samuel Iduabo Tarinyo was a respected educator and community leader from Otuogidi, Bayelsa State. Born on November 4, 1938, he dedicated his life to teaching and mentoring students across the Niger Delta. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Lagos and held various teaching and administrative positions, including Principal and Director at the Bayelsa State Post Primary Schools Board.

A devoted Anglican, he was known for his deep faith and commitment to his community. He married Roseline Itesobo Tarinyo in 1969, and they had seven children. After a long battle with Parkinson’s disease, he passed away peacefully on August 19, 2023, at the age of 85. He will be interred in Otuogidi on December 15, 2023.

Pa Brisibe was married to over fifteen wives and had more than thirty children. Notable descendants include Mr. FHE Brisibe, Major Awiki Brisibe, and Mr. Custom Brisibe. He served as an Administrative Officer in the Rivers State civil service, eventually becoming a Director-General. After retiring in 1993, he entered active politics, supporting prominent figures like Chief DSP Alamieyeseigha and Dr. Goodluck Jonathan. He held various significant positions, including Vice Chairman of the Transitional Committee and Special Adviser on Community Relations. Chief Okoloba-Aziba is also a devout Baptist and a dedicated family man, married to Pastor Mrs. Maria Okoloba.
