Academic and Professional Career

Prof. Odi-Owei began his career as a Pupil Mechanical Engineer at the Ministry of Works and Transport in Port Harcourt in 1970. His academic journey led him through several prestigious institutions, culminating in his appointment as Vice-Chancellor of the Rivers State University of Science and Technology (RSUST) (now Rivers State University) from 1996 to 2000.

He also served as Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Dean of Faculty, Head of Department, and later became the Emeritus Professor of Mechanical Engineering at RSUST in 2015.

He has held visiting academic positions at the University of Wales (UK), University of Essex (UK), University of Port Harcourt, and Niger Delta University.
